Information on forthcoming training and workshops is available from News and Events.
In addition we offer:
NVivo is a qualitative research data analysis package. ACU research candidates are able to request a copy of this software by contacting IT Support Services on:
(07) 3623 7272 (i.e. extension 7272 if you’re on campus)
emailing the eResearch team at firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note that when requesting NVivo from IT you will need to provide evidence of enrolment such as a student number and your ACU username.
Alternatively, a research candidate’s supervisor can log a request for NVivo via the IT Service Portal (requires Staff user ID to login).
A limited number of off-site licences for the SPSS statistical analysis package are available for ACU research candidates. Candidates should contact Res.Development@acu.edu.au in the first instance as licencing for off-premise use of SPSS has special conditions that ACU must conform to.
InCites is a citation analysis tool provided by Clarivate Analytics (part of Thomson Reuters). Drawing on data from the Web of Science databases, inCites supports analysis and reporting on research performance. Research Librarians are able to assist staff and provide advice on accessing and using inCites.
Australian Bureau of Statistics
Access to Microdata and Census data is available to ACU researchers.
In order to gain access to the ABS Microdata (CURF’s) you will need to register to join as an ACU user.
Once you register, Research Services will confirm your application to join. You will then get an email from the ABS giving you the details and password to access to the requested CURFS.
Staff and students are able to register for TableBuilder Pro or Basic as a member of ACU. Access to this is free as ACU is a party to the agreement with ABS. Please note that ACU has a licence for this.
TableBuilder Pro, which is much more capable, is available to ACU staff and students without a license fee as this has been paid by Universities Australia. More information is available on the ABS website.
Census data pack registration
For the Census data packs you will need to register via the ABS website. Please note these packs are free.
For further information please contact Michael Murphy, ACU ABS contact officer.
